The bonfire of hypocrits...

The newly formed party, The Right, is going to collect sgnatures to propose a Referendum that will be one of the most controversial in this Country.

Personally I am in favour of legalising prostitution but I find rather odd that a woman, a politician, that has been defending womes rights and making of feminism a battle, is now proposing to legalise prostitution abolishing a law voted in the aftermath of fascism to close the brothels and send prostitutes in the street making them easy preys of organised crime and victim of many attacks.

In this pseudo-catholic country were no matter whether you are right wing or left wing, you are subject to the Vatican moods, there has never been anything concrete done to legalise prostitution but the ostrich policy has prevailed. Left wing lawmakers or mayors have been proposing a few repressive measures but never, not one of them, has had the gts to propose legalisation.

Sex in Italy is the last taboo... more than 50% of the Italians betray the partners and still sex is taboo...

Anyway, this party needs some votes and make itself different from the party it broke away from, Alleanza Nazionale, that is going more and more towards the Centre. And in Italy, centre means Catholic parties.
