Bangkok, day 3

Hot Hot Hot!
Humid Humid Humid!

Today I got up really late.. past 9 am! For me it's a record. The truth is that the heat is killing me! Yesterday was unbearably hot and I went around quite extensively. Today I took it much easier but, nevertheless, it's hot! And between A/C and the heat I don't know which of the two is worse for me! This morning, as you can see from the pictures, I have been to the Lumpini Park. Very interesting one and despite the heat I managed to walk around and get told off by a guard that has asked me to compose myself after falling accidentally asleep on a bench... I have to say that he was really nice and his mannerism was remarkable. With the other homeless guy next bench he was not so sweet though...

One thing I forgot to mention is... motorbikes! they are everywhere. They made me think of Beijing... What a chaos would be Beijing if they were allowed! I have to congratulate the acumen of the Chinese politicians for not allowing motorbikes in the country! Jeez, they are all over the place. I do understand that it's the best way to go around but I think that this is the best way to get hurt as pedestrian, though.

Another thing that is very visible around, aside the "one man restaurants" are the drinks sellers. They fill the bags, plastic bags, with ice and juices and syrups. They drink it with straws. I think it's a good alternative to more expensive bags.

I enjoy the local train transportation very much. It's really reliable and modern. Extremely clean and due to the Swine Flu scare, the whole station is sanitised every 4 hours! that is amazing... Apart from that, I got a bloody cold and I hope it's not a flu!

Lunch time was at a Chinese restaurant... lovely! But the funny waiter was the best part... I entered and greeted him in Chinese, he greeted me back in Thai. I ordered some food but he didn't understand. I started speaking English and he seemed relieved. When I asked him if he spoke Mandarin he replied, in Mandarin, positively. When I told him that I really enjoyed the food he was very keen in giving me the bill and when I asked him from where in China he was originally from he replied... You are Welcome!

How did we do with money today?

Trains, 4 times 103 baht
Lunch 296 (320 incl tip)
Gym 100 (I still cannot get used to the temperature!)
Starbucks 175 for a lovely green tea frappuccino

So far, before dinner 665 Baht that is 13 euro

so, total is 531 euro
