good day everyone... another long and exhausting day is gone. The heat, the massage classes and accumulated tiredness added to the feeling that the break is going to finish really exhausted me today. Yesterday was the cheapest day since I am in Thailand, i spent for a bowl of noodles and some pork with veggies and a coke zero, 85 baht including tip. plus a 23 baht for drinks in 7/11. So, add to the overall total 108 baht (2 euro) and we will have a 640 Euro as at yesterday.
This morning I paid the hotel for another 6 nights so I have spent another 2024 baht, more or less 42 Euro plus I had some dinner (noodles, roast pork and chicken interiors with veggies, coke and one coconut water) for 150 baht (3 euro).
Today though, during lunch I decided to try some street delicacies...
I wish I had tried them before!
Grilled Coconut Pancake (Kanom Krok): A mixture of flour batter and coconut cream cooked in a dimpled cast-iron pan over a charcoal fire. After the flour mix is cooked, a sweet coconut milk topping is added, resulting in a treat that’s crispy on the outside yet soft in the middle.
Baht 20 for 6 of them. Fantastic!
Gai Yang (Barbequed Chicken on a Stick): Chicken that is marinated with a blend of fish sauce, garlic, turmeric, coriander and white pepper, and grilled over a low heat for a long time. Gai Yang is commonly served with sticky rice and tammakhoung (a salad made from shredded unripened papaya).
Baht 10 for 6 on a stick
Durian: A controversial “king of fruit” that is loved and hated by all sorts of people who encounter it. Looking like a spiky version of a jackfruit, durian has large, fleshy parts with a consistency of soft bananas, but the fruit’s aroma stinks like rotten onions with a men’s locker room.
10 baht
I will try some more stuff the next few days.
So, nothing special after all except that today I have been offered a girl to spend my two weeks with. The tuk tuk driver outside the hotel was in a talkative mood and after talking about exercising, yoga and football he asked whether I was interested in a 17-18 years old girl that could have kept me company for the next couple of weeks. I think that my look alone was enough to let him understand what I thought about it but just to make sure I was really clear I told him that 17-18 years old are good to go to school and accompany the fathers in church or at the temple, or going out with the friends to play bowling or eat a plate of noodles and that, despite Thailand is a popular destination for old dirty bastards, I am not one of those.
He started explaining that the girl was, yes 18, but she looked much older and she had big breasts and nice tits. The skin was as white as the moon and her hair are long and silky. If I had gone with him, for 2000 baht, there would have been not even the need to pay the ride and I could have decided whether the girl could have stayed with me the night or the week...
I just left him at that and walked away.
Not sure I mentioned this before, but over here in CM it is not common to see the couples with 40 years gap and most Westerners I have seen here are accompanied by their white wives or, however, Thai ladies that are not as young as those you can see in Bangkok or Pattaya or, I assume, Pukhet and southern islands.
I found out that Thai and Burmese do not love each other... apparently they have been fighting for centuries and still they hate each other. I was talking to one of the teachers at the school and she was telling me that it is not fair to hate your enemy but even if you want to forget the past, this happens to be really difficult... So, now I know, that even the smiling people have enemies :)
Ok guys,
I am really tired and it's time to go to sleep.
