Too much optimism... Berlusconi, once again, presents and get approved a law that saves his ass from jail and attacks the judges that are, according to him, trying to change the popular will trying to eliminate him from the political scene.
Veltroni, leader of the shadow cabinet, sees no more cooperation with the government and in Autumn they will start with strikes. In the meantime the Democratic Party is rethinking of the self-imposed autarchy and tries to cooperate with those hardliners parties no longer representend in the Parliament.
Veltroni is accused by Berlusconi of having brought Rome to bankruptcy when he was mayor, the EU and the government of Italy are in bad terms because Barroso is fed up of all of Berlusconi's nonsense done it while host at the EU institutions, and the President of the Italian Republic, Napolitano, is pulled by the jacket by government, opposition and judges to intervene.
So, once again back to the past. What a fucked up country! But, who cares, my fellow citizens would be happy enough if the Azzurri reach the final of Euro 2008. Sod off!
By the way, in the meantime Italy is putting in place the Robin Hood tax: The liberal government that preaches the free market and gets upset when the leftists talk about redistribution of the wealth, decided to penalise those companies that make too much profit: oil companies, bank and insurances, instead of blocking them from stealing, they prefer to let them steal and then tax them, revealing to be worse than the thieves. A big VAFFANCULO is all due! VAFFANCULO BERLUSCONI!
I am trying to come back to life...
