Today, thursday, I thought I was still in Chengdu. Rain and rain and more rain but, this time, it was a real pleasure. Cooling down was more than welcome! We decided to spend our last day at the Summer Palace but we woke up far too late so we ended up spending the day in one of the biggest and most interesting shopping mall I have ever been. APM shopping mall is just a 6 level, plus basement, of pure ecstasy for shopaholics... Shop till you drop? I dropped... It was far too much even for someone like me. I thought we were done with shopping and it took plenty of self control not to take home another suitcase of clothes and useless stuff... they say that people who shop a lot are depressed... Well, I must be the most depressed man on earth and for a long time now, since I always loved shopping.
The last day in Beijing, the hottest day of the year, 37 degrees and an amazing sunny day, or I should say the last FULL day in Beijing has been extremely relaxing and has ended with a lovely Hubei meal and the Hubei Opera. One hour of entertainment made of singing, dancing, jugglers and so on. I preferred this one to the Beijing Opera I saw two years ago and I find very easy to imitate both male and female singing. My daughter just loves it! I might have a career in Hubei Opera singing: the first Da Bi Zi at the Opera! Wow!
Anyway folks, this is my last script from Beijing and from China. I hope to come back to this side of the world one day, on vacation, but I got the strange feeling that this is last time I was here. I will be planning for some trips to Asia but this time it will be in Vietnam or Laos or Cambodia.
I love Beijing, I love Beijingers and I wish this wonderful country all the very best for the future that might be as bright as their glorious past.
Farewell China, Farewell Beijing!
I am trying to come back to life...
