from the news...

A few interesting piece of news these days.

The first one is the attack to Egypt from the Western world for the attacks to the Christian population by the Moslem groups and the weak (if any) reaction from President Mubarak government. This serves right to those Westerners that consider Egypt a "democratic" country. Or, better, a "moderate" country. I will remind to those who feel offended by the attacks to the Christians that Egyptian prisons are packed with dissidents and religious esponents (moslems) that do not support Mubarak and his nepotism.

The second one is a reminder for my fellow citizens. In the UK there is a big thing on the news about the Swine Flu. Apparently, since October, 39 people have died and only one above the age 65, due to this virus. Seems like we are running short of vaccine. Well, last year, in Italy, there was a full season of attacks, speculations, accusations of every sort. This year, seems like nobody really cares about it to avoid to end up accused of excess alarmism... People will die and the statistics will include them in the normal seasonal flu.

Battisti case. Mr. Lula, as final act has decided to grant political asylum to a murderer. I am sure that Italians will still judge Brazil for the beaches and the firm asses they see in TV but, it is nice to show the face of this country that derives some of the fortunes from crooks, assassins and thieves that can come here, enjoy the benefits of being rich and be granted iimpunity. Great!
